The AGM
More than 50 members attended the AGM at Robertsbridge recently. A splendid turnout which gave justification to Lynsey’s excellent spread of food.
Angela, our chairman, reported that 2018 was a good year considering the external influences. She went on to say that our committee has organised 12 events for the forthcoming year.
Weald Craft Finances
The Treasurer, Graeme, was pleased to report that our finances are sound with a surplus carried over from 2018.
He explained that Four Jays, our marquee supplier, will be requiring an additional cost this year to pay for their insurance. This will amount to approximately £100 per event. We will also be responsible for a period of 3 days after the event.
We are not happy with this situation and it is Graeme’s intention to try and find an alternative supplier for next year.
Message from Macmillans
Doreen from Macmillans, our sponsored charity would like to pass on a message:
I was going to stand up, at the AGM and say thank you to everyone for having Macmillan again as your chosen charity. However, so many people wished to have their say I decided not to.
We were originally told that it was only for a year, but SEVEN years later we are still your chosen charity. We have made lots of new friends and sometimes have a problem that too many people want to help because everyone enjoys it.
I don’t think some people realise how much work goes on behind the scene so thank you for your hard work. See you in April. Kind regards. Doreen.
