Message from the Chair
It is with great sadness that I have to report that one of our long-standing members Brian Reene passed away on the 8th May. Our thoughts are with his wife Pam and family at this difficult time.
As far as our events are concerned, we returned to the beautiful setting of Firle Place for the Country Show and Horse Trials. The weather was mixed but there was good attendance for this popular event on both days. It was disappointing that we had a small number of members attending but hopefully this is due to the early season and we will see more of you at future shows.
As there have been very few members wishing to attend the Staple Cross Garden Centre event in July, we have had to take the decision to withdraw this as a Weald Crafts event. If any member wishes to attend, we understand that the owners would be pleased to see you on an independent basis. Therefore, please contact them direct to make arrangements.
We still have a full programme for the remainder of the year, as shown below. If you have not yet sent in Booking Forms but would like to express an interest in attending, please contact the organiser to enable us to complete our arrangements.
25th and 26th June Broyle Country Show. This is proving to be very popular with only a few spaces left so please send Booking Forms to Graham by 31st May at the latest.
2nd and 3rd July Camper Marmalade. This is a new event for us but should be a very worthwhile show with music and a large footfall expected. There are still spaces available so again please send Booking Forms to Graham by 12th June.
20th and 21st August Tractorfest, Biddenden. Another popular event returning after difficulties presented by Covid. There are still spaces available so please send Booking forms to Virginia as soon as possible but by 15th June at the latest.
29th August Le Marche, Heathfield. We have had a very good response to this event with only one space still available so if you wish to attend, please send Booking Forms to Jean as soon as possible but by 15th June at the latest.
16th to 18th September Bentley Woodfair. Although later in the summer we have received a number of Booking Forms. There are still spaces so please advise Graham as soon as possible if you wish to attend.
