Message from the Chair
It was very good to see so many members at the recent Annual General Meeting. One item that was discussed was the changes proposed to our constitution, regarding management and disbanding of the group. The change made to the management is to reflect that we do not have three committee members in addition to the officers so this was merely to ensure that management is correctly carried out in accordance with the constitution. The only changes to the disbanding of the group were to reflect that we have moved to being non gender specific for the role of the Chair. As these items were not voted on at the AGM, we will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting at the Firle Garden Show to rectify this. The meeting will be held in our marquee at 9-30am on Sunday 17th April.
As can be seen below we have been able to put together an exciting and varied programme for this year. I would encourage members to send in Booking Forms for the various events as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
15th to 17th April. Firle Garden Show. This very popular show is less than a month away. There are still a few spaces available so please send your Booking Forms to Jean as soon as possible
14th and 15th May. Firle Country Show. This popular event has returned to the calendar and with spaces still available please send Booking Forms to Jean.
25th and 26th June. Broyle Country Show. This is proving to be very popular with only a few spaces left so please send Booking Forms to Graham as soon as possible
2nd and 3rd July. Camper Marmalade. This is a new event for us but should be a very worthwhile show with music and a large footfall expected so again please send Booking Forms to Graham.
30th and 31st July. Staplecross Garden Centre. We are returning to this venue after a difficult 2021 so if you wish to attend, please send Booking Forms to Virginia.
20th and 21st August. Tractorfest, Biddenden. Another popular event returning after difficulties presented by Covid. There are still some spaces available so please send Booking forms to Virginia as soon as possible.
29th August. Le Marche, Heathfield. We have had a very good response to this event so if you wish to attend, please send Booking Forms to Jean as soon as possible as space will be limited.
16th to 18th September. Bentley Woodfair. Although later in the summer we have received a number of Booking Forms. There are still spaces so please advise Graham as soon as possible if you wish to attend.
15th October. Herstmonceux Craft Fair. A new event in a popular location.
29th October. Rotherfield Christmas Fair. Another return to an event which has been successful in the past
12th November. Crowborough Christmas Fair. We plan to return to this venue which proved popular last year.
19th and 20th November. Cooden Beach Hotel. We are looking to return to this very popular venue.
26th November. Nutley Christmas Fair. After last year’s success at this new venue, we are returning but on a Saturday this time.
3rd December. Heart of the Weald Hospice Christmas Fair, Maidstone. This is an event we will be promoting jointly with the Hospice in an area that is new to us. This has previously been run by the hospice.
